If you knew anything about guns, a 357 can kill a bear or penetrate armour. Imagine the effect on a human body.

As you state the 357 are rimmed revolver rounds, the 38 super is a rimless semi auto round, it makes more sense as the revolver rarely misfires and has no safety and the semi auto do tend to misfire and people do forget to release the safety
