Thai Airways President says govt's charter flight expenses can be audited

BANGKOK, 4 October 2016 (NNT) - The President of Thai Airways International has delivered a statement of the government’s use of one of its charter flights.

Thai Airways President Charamporn Jotikasthira said the country currently has no routes traveling directly to Honolulu in the United States. The Office of the Prime Minister therefore commissioned a charter flight from Thai Airways, due to the airline's experience in servicing state officials.

Mr. Charamporn also revealed that Thai Airways had given a preliminary quote for the charter flight, but will only charge for actual expenses incurred. The cost per passenger on a charter flight may be higher than on commercial flights.

He affirmed that the charter price complied with guidelines of servicing government agencies and that the expenses are open for potential auditing.

"but will only charge for actual expenses incurred."

Yep, let's forget about profit. Great way to turn your business around...

The Swiss President attended the ASEM meeting earlier this year in Ulan Bataar/Mongolia and took a commercial flight from Switzerland to Mongolia on Turkish Airlines as they offer this service on a regular basis.

The riots in Turkey then prevented him to fly back via Turkey and was offered a seat on the German Chancellor's flight to Berlin.

Honestly, how many commercial flight services - daily - are offered to Honolulu out of Bangkok, provided you're willing to change planes en route?

no matter how, for sure there was no reason to use such a fuel-eating four engine monster.

one of their A330 or 777 would have done as well

And how much will the auditors be paid for the 'special service'?

With that amount of honesty and integrity onboard two engines was not enough!

All very well saying expenses can be audited, but who will do the audit???

Nothing about this matter is above board, using a 747 for 38 people  (sorry 38 that has been owned up to).

What about all the hangers on i.e. wifes / moi nois / giks/ spongers????
