RENTAL BOND

My neighbor (a non-member of TV) will soon depart his rented condo at Unicca, South Pattaya. His condo is privately owned but the rental is managed by the condo management which holds the rental bond. There is a dispute between the renter and management and withholding a portion of the bond is being threatened,

Is there a rental authority that mediates such disputes, please? (The name of the owner is unknown.)

Its very common for Landlords here to refuse to return

the 2 months security deposit, and come up with all kinds

of excuses, but on the other hand some tenants leave the

property in a terrible state, only once have we refused to

return the deposit,to a Thai tenant, they left with 3 teak

doors, all the curtains, holes drilled everywhere in the walls,

good job it was let unfurnished.

Your friend might be lucky that they are only retaining

a portion of the deposit, but he needs to ask why, there

is no authority to turn to when this happens, get a lawyer

and just throw more money into a black hole.Police will

not be interested.
