A Lurker
Hi All, Am in the market for a knife sharpener (electric or manual doesn't matter) in the 1000 baht range. Not looking for a Thai wet stone etc or to use local knife sharpening service. Appreciate any suggestions as the range, quality and price on Lazada seems to vary greatly. Cheers. petedk
Why are you not looking for a wet stone? I have one I bought in UK and believe me I think it is better than any other knife sharpener.
kickstart
I use a cabarudm stone ,cost me 250 baht , from my local shop (Hin-Pet-Lap- Mead ,in Thai ) that was for a good quality one .I use it dry ,not wet . With Thai/ Chinese knives ,not the best of quality ,I find works ok ,some carbon steel knives we have , like a machete we use for cutting grass ,they are in fact sugar cane knives , I can get very sharp ,so a kitchen knife should be no problem . A Lurker
Thanks. I'm thinking of something easy for the missus to use rather than mucking around with wet stones and so forth. Just a bit suss on gadgets although I know plenty of people use them abroad.
