Prayut calls for ‘inclusive growth’ for Asian region

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, centre, greets participants yesterday during the opening ceremony of the ACD Connect Business Forum 2016, a parallel meeting for the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) summit held today. 

 

BANGKOK: -- PRIME MINISTER Prayut Chan-o-cha was joined by other speakers.

 

They called for the public and private sector to tighten their partnerships and draw people to their plans and the execution of the plans.

Prayut said that while the ACD leveraged its "diverse strengths", nobody should be "left behind" - whether they are a member country, citizens, or small enterprises.

He said: "Both the private and public sectors must be aware of the people, since people are also their consumers - how lower-income earners can take part in the products that you have created; how they can afford to use the high-speed trains."

PM inaugurates ACD Connect Business Forum

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha inaugurated the ACD Connect Business Forum 2016 at the Plaza Athenee Hotel on Sunday by highlighting the importance of the private sector in strengthening the ACD by means of close cooperation with both the government and private sectors.

 

In his opening speech, the prime minister underlined the connectivity within Asia by creatively using the diversity within the region for the benefit of all member states.

 

He also showcased Thailand’s 20-year strategy focusing on increasing the country’s competitiveness through the development of science and technology and innovation to increase the productivity and service capacity.

Look, you're simply going to have to learn how to play nicely with the other children.

That means using a pencil first, so you can use an eraser if you need to, you'll have plenty of time to use a real pen later.

I hope the inclusiveness he is talking about includes the expats living in Thailand. 

The PM's 20 year strategy needs to lift it's game otherwise Thailand will be well and truly left behind. Many of his Asian counterparts in attendance at this forum have economies that are going gangbusters. Thailand is not one of them. 

Still waiting to see an honest example of the PM's so called development of science and technology and innovation. Plenty of dishonest examples going around but none that would fall into the category of "honest" and of benefit to the economy.

So, this idiot asks the ACD, "...how can lower-income earners...afford to use the high-speed trains...” ???

 

He should put that question to his mirror !!!

Thailand's 1% of 1% will get all the goodies as per usual.  Everyone else in Thailand WILL get left behind, unless they spend time leveraging the strengths of their neighbors.   If you play by Thai rules even as a Thai, you will lose.

Excluding the Thai military that is exclusive of the public and private sectors.

"Inclusive" in Prayuth's world means including only him, his family, his mates and his supporters. Since this oaf grabbed power, public spending in the provinces had reduced to just 17%, the remaining 83% is spent in Bangkok.

 

What a hypocrite this man is.

Good point except that the private sector dislike political uncertainty which you and your kind have created. Talk to any private investors and they will say the same thing about Thailand, a country full of potential but empty of political stability with its repetitive coups. 

The P.M. would not be talking about "no country being left behind" if Thailand was in the lead!  As it is, I suppose he can live in hope that the others will pull him up.
