Heading to Bang Saen mid-December and was looking for some tips re places to stay.

I guess everywhere down there is near the beach, but somewhere with a pool and decent grub would be a plus.

Thanks in advance. . .

Bang Saen sucks. The beach and the sea are filthly. You can't swim, you can't lie down on the beach (anyway the whole beach is rented to small restaurants, there's not a space left). A rat hole costs 500 bahts a night.

I'll never go back there. :o

:D This may be a daft question, but why Bang Saen? It is as others have pointed out, dull and dirty with no beach to speak of. Is there a particular reason for wanting to swim in raw sewage? :o

I went there with the missus as an alternative to Pattaya 9 years ago. The beach road was full of out of town pick up trucks, som tam and bbq chicken was being prepared everywhere, hotel was crap, in short it was a mess. We moved on to Pattaya the next day.
