BANGKOK: -- A handicapped old man who is travelling to Bangkok in a three wheel vehicle to pay homage to His Majesty has now reached Saraburi.

Parn Meunyot, 84, who has only limited use of his legs, set off from his home in Buriram on Friday determined to reach the capital to pay his respects to the man who helped him in the past, reports Thairath.

Parn has said that he suffered a injury years ago while tilling his fields. He was helped by His Majesty when he entered a Royal Project to aid his rehabilitation.

"I am in debt to His Majesty", said Parn "and I simply must make it to Bangkok even though my legs don't have much power".

Yesterday he had reached Saraburi where he spent the night at the Saraburi Sports Ground and was due to continue his journey in the early hours of this morning.

He is being helped along the way by the mayor of Nong Takhrong district in Buriram called Sorawut Thitaratanachot.

He is also being assisted by foundation workers from Sawang Sawangratanatrai in Saraburi and the highway police to ensure his safety.
