Khunchai Tong
A Huawei media pad T1 8.0 . No phone feature. Bought this in NZ a week ago and thought I could just connect to the WIFI at home which I have done before with my samsung galaxy phone which was also bought in NZ. No go. Followed all the instructions as per the manual and the wifi Connect button just stays gray. So thought the problem might be lack of SD card . bought a SD card which had another chip looking thingy in the packet. 490 baht. And the other thing I doubt I will ever use. And still no go. Would appreciate any help.
Peterw42
Some android tablets will turn off wifi to use bluetooth, one or the other. Some have power save settings that turn off wifi if no networks.
Khunchai Tong
I cannot turn the wifi on. We have an asdl router at home and all the other devices work and connect. That is 2 samsung galaxy 3s and 1 laptop. If I turn wifi off on the tablet and turn bluetooth on the message reads <To see availible networks,turnWi-Fi on> So I do that and get the wifi secured with wpa/wpa2 then i tap the correct box and another box comes up with NAME SIGNAL STRENGTH Excellent SECURITY WPA/WPA2PSK PASSWORD SHOW PASSWORD SHOW ADVANCED OPTIONS CANCEL CONNECT The cancel button is hard black and the connect button stays barely visible gray
brianinbangkok
What device is it and why do you turn bluetooth on ?Bluetooth has nothing to do with WIFI.Leave or switch WIFI "ON" in the device and then greyed out should be black
Khunchai Tong
A Huawei media pad T1 8.0 . No phone feature. The previous person said something about bluetooth so I thought i would try that. Mate I dont even know what bluetooth is. So , in the last hour I have managed to get the password in then the connect button goes black which is showing some progress. Then the screen reads> authentication problem< Is it the router with the problem or the tablet ?
brianinbangkok
Bluetooth just switch it off has nothing to do with wifi. Some devices can only do Wifi OR bluetooth at same time.Make sure WIFI is switched ON.The WIFI has a password make sure its correctly typed its CAP sensitive. Also what network protocol is it set to use ? Did you select the correct WIFI nework as there may be more then one ?Check page 10 of English manual. On "home screen" touch settings icon little gear wheel" Then select "settings > WIFI2 drag the little switch to switch ON WIFI or just touch key it will scan for WIFI networks.3 Select your network and follow onscreen instructionshttp://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=49484&version=115233&siteCode=bd
The Fat Controller
Authentication problem usually means you have typed the password incorrectly !
tifino
if you still have problems connecting to the home wifi, why not try tethering/wifi hotspot from the Galaxy? your password sequence would then also be a simpler one to connect with
Khunchai Tong
Yep done that already. Banging my head up against a brick wall here. Good job Mrs Tong has hidden the hammer. Next step is to try and navigate my way through a huawei help desk/call center. Do that tomorrow. Thanks guys.

Khunchai Tong
Thanks for all the input guys. I have solved the problem much to my embarrassment. Mrs Tong gave me the wrong password. Shame on her. Lol. Edited October 21, 2016 by Khunchai Tong
