October 26, 20169 yr For information for anyone wanting to take their partner to the Dominican Republic Just returned from the Dominican Republic after 2 weeks in the Sun. Looking at the list of places where i could take my wife that isn't Asia, we opted for the Dominican Republic. we bought out tourist visa's on line before flying out. At check-in, the lady asked if i had a Schengen Visa, I told the lady that she didn't need one, She than had to phone to make sure that i was right, We then had to show her resident card after 10 minutes, everything was ok and on our way. The same happened in immigration in the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana airport)doubted that my wife could travel to the DR on a thai passport, but had to provide the resident card after he checked. The same happened at Check in and passport control coming home. We had the same issue going to Turkey last year at check in. Next year it will be Blackpool, Less hassle ;-(

October 27, 20169 yr Author The resident card is the card that my Thai wife got when she received her indefinite leave to remain, Its proof that she is a resident, married to a UK citizen and able to live in the UK but is a citizen of another country which she has to show every time that she enters the UK . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Residence_card_of_a_family_member_of_a_Union_citizen Edited October 27, 20169 yr by malct Adding
