Boy, 14, Arrested for Rape

Featured Replies

A 14-year-old boy was arrested on Wednesday evening at his home in Kandal province’s Kien Svay district over allegations of raping a 10-year-old girl on three occasions over the past year, according to police. A district police officer who only gave his name as Ny confirmed the arrest in Kien Svay district’s Korki commune.

“The arrest took place at his home in Korki commune,” he said, declining further comment and referring questions to the commune police chief. According to the police report, the suspect was identified as a boy living in the same village as the victim.

It said that at 3pm on Wednesday, the girl went to play near the boy’s house and the boy asked her to bring a broom inside his house. When she entered the house, he muffled her mouth, warned her not to shout, ordered her to lay down before raping her. Commune police chief Veng Kosal said the boy had raped the victim three times but was unable to specify a time period.
