waldroj
Whilst this seems to be a quick arrest, the reality is (as Col Amponwat explained), “Mr Sakol also had previously filed a complaint with police that Mr Wattana was using illegal tuk-tuks to serve tourists in Patong...Mr Wattana was arrested in September this year...We believe that this inspired Mr Wattana to plan to murder Mr Sakol with Tong”. If this is the case, then (yet again) we are witnessing Thailand's "non-reactive" policing in action !!!

It appears the qualification process to become a driver here in Phuket is extremely low to non existent. Are there really any checks (background, security, criminal, dirvers compentency etc.) at all before these guys hand in some paperwork and get their green or yellow plates. Quite scary to think that these types of people are serving the public.
