BANGKOK: -- DEFENCE Minister Prawit Wongsuwan denied yesterday that high-ranking government authorities’ emails had been hacked.

If hacking did occur, the Ministry of Digital Economy and the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission plus other agencies would have to work together to prevent such crimes, he said.

Prawit said the government had the capacity to prevent unauthorised access.

The gauntlet has been thrown down to the hackers perhaps ?

What will Prawit et al say when extracts from their emails start being published other than deny, deny, deny and stamp their feet ?

It really wouldn't be hard to hack these guys' emails. I'm surprised it hasn't been done more often with the emails being leaked.

Then again, maybe people wouldn't be interested in reading poorly written emails with way too many emojis.

I somehow doubt that the higher echelons of the current regime rely on or even use email.

Most decisions are probably taken behind closed doors, and disseminated by trusted uniformed messengers.

But he says hacking did not occur; thus, the NBTC and other agencies will NOT have to work together to prevent such crimes.

The Do-Nothing scenaro.
