Reading another thread got me to thinking just how ironic this board can be.

I wonder why someone would come onto a Western forum to ask Western people about what parts of Thailand they can go to, to get away from Western people.

 

The answer is simple, bored people sit at their keyboard, thinking of ways to get attention. So, post something that will cause controversy and get lots of comments. Ignore them.

I think it's a reasonable question to ask of some people living here.  

 

I prefer places that are not packed with tourists.

 

Maybe start a list,  my guess is first on the list :-   Pattaya.

 

That said there's probably some places near Pattaya that are OK.
