I am Polish citizen with Thai wife & child, 60 years old.

I am in the last 90 day extension of the 12 month Multiple Entry Type O Visa,

hence about 14 months have past. Dec 30, I get the next 1 Year Visa in Penang.

I want to go outside Thailand for 2 days this month and return through Poipet.

Do I need to get a single re-entry permit for 1000Baht before I go out? Does the

multiple entry status of the original Visa expire at 12 months?

I haven't been able to find the precise rule about this situation.

Thanks in advance for the answer.

1. A visa is only valid for entry between the dates indicated. Your visa is no longer valid so you would require a re entry permit to keep your current permitted to stay alive.

2. You are not likely to be able to obtain another one year (multi entry) visa in Penang. It would be better to try Singapore or Kuala Lumpur if not returning to your home country.

3. If you have family income of 40k you might apply at immigration for an extension of stay for one year.

4. If you do not have income and are listed as father of the child you could try the new provision to live with your child (being over age 50) as Sunbelt has mentioned here.

You get the single entry before you go out. This single entry is on the 90 day stamp not the one year multi entry visa.

This is VERY good advice given by him. Spot on as is normal with him.
