BANGKOK, 23 November 2016 (NNT) – The Prime Minister has pressed all relevant officials working on organic laws to do with the new Constitution to complete the drafts within the allotted time while also suspending development of a coal power plant in Krabi.

Prime Minister Gen Prayuth Chan-o-cha has stated there is no need to hold a special meeting between the Five Rivers at this time as organic laws dealing with the new constitution are still in the hands of the Constitution Drafting Commission. Nonetheless, he has tasked the body with completing their write up of the laws by the set deadline.

On public aversion to a coal power plant in Krabi province, the prime minister acknowledged their concerns and assured the project has been put on hold for the time being.

Speaking further on a Cabinet decision to assist low income earners registered for government welfare, the premier stated the move is for all low income earners, not only farmers. He let on there are about 8 million people registered for state welfare with up to 5 million in careers other than farming. He added more aid measures will be revealed as New Year’s approaches.
