November 29, 20169 yr i am going to england soon, was hoping to get new retirement, non-immigrant o multy entry 1 year visa, same as many times before, but on reading web site this is not possible now from england, anyone come across this, and what is the alternative. i always went to birmingham they were great, it closed now, where has staff gone, i think i have to go Hull now.
November 29, 20169 yr The consulates can no longer issue multiple entry visas. You would have to apply for it at the embassy in London. I assume you are 65 or over and drawing a state pension. If not you will not get a non-o visa in the UK.
November 29, 20169 yr Check this out on Hull Consulates web site Latest News Important Information about Non-Immigrant Visas 16 September 2016 With the introduction of new rules for Non-Immigrant visas, The Royal Thai Consul UK is now providing direct assistance for all categories of Non-Immigrant visa applications. Under the new legislation, when applying for any category of Non-Immigrant visa, the Royal Thai Consul asks applicants to email all documentation for checking to the Hull Consulate, ([email protected]) who will then forward the application to the London Embassy for approval to issue. The applicant is then informed of the decision by the London Embassy and, where approved, is invited to visit the Hull Consulate where the visa can be issued promptly. This application checking service is not available at the London Embassy, where persons posting their application to London will only learn if they will be granted multiple or single entry or even only a tourist visa on receiving their passport again.
November 29, 20169 yr Not sure about that news. People have contacted Hull, Liverpool and Cardiff and been told they cannot issue them.
November 29, 20169 yr Author thank you gentlemen, will try email hull, when get england on 14dec, i remember last time left application at birmingham, went shop, ten minutes later phone call visa granted from london embassy, of course, let you know what happens, it was so so easy before, and yes ubonjoe, unfortunately well over 65.
November 29, 20169 yr I could extend only for the remaining validity of my passport this year, end of August 2007, so will get a new passport during my summer stay in UK from March then apply for an single entry 'O' to return in October 2007. I intend to write to the Thai Embassy in London and ask them what documents if any, they will need. I got the impression from Immigration here when I raised the issue of a new passport, that it shouldn't be any probem. I think that I should guage the attitude of the embassy in London because I feel that visits of five months are not in the spirit of the rules. In your position I would feel even more compelled to ask since the visa is issued in order to provide for a twelve continouos stay not for visa runs. Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect

November 29, 20169 yr Why would that be? Immigration here advised it. I have been visiting and extending for retirement on my original 'o' visa for eleven years now. Had I obtained a new passport this year before returning everything would have been carried over to that passport by now. I understood that 800000 Baht in the bank was an alternative to a pension. Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect That is the embassy in London's policy they came out with over 2 years ago. If under 65 the only visa you can get is a OA visa from the embassy. A immigration office would not know the policy of all the embassies and consulates in the world. Most embassies and official consulates will not issue non-o visas for retirement.
November 29, 20169 yr Thanks, that has got me looking at the Embassy in London website again and reminds me why I thought that I would write a letter. OA is a good enough visa. Immigration doesn't need to know the policy of various embassies does it? If I land and get 90 days stamped into my passport using a visa which is extendable then I go to immigration and extend it don't I ? It seems that since the embassy does seem to have some restrictions of its own, pension which I don't have, income which I don't have, I do need to write to see if draw-down on the 800000Baht in the bank fulfils the income requirement. Once I get here, I revert to extensions stamped 'retirement' and re-entry permits in future. Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect
