Dhammachayo

BANGKOK: -- THE DEPARTMENT of Special Investigation (DSI) has written to senior Buddhist figures asking for their help in tracking down Phra Dhammachayo, the fugitive abbot of Wat Dhammakaya in Pathum Thani province.

The DSI letter was sent to the National Office of Buddhism, the chief monk of the Central Regional Sangha Administration and the chief monk of the Pathum Thani provincial Sangha Administration.

If the abbot fails to surrender, senior monks must participate in operations to arrest him, DSI chief Pol Colonel Paisit Wongmuang said yesterday.

Phra Dhammachayo faces charges of money laundering and receiving stolen assets linked to an embezzlement case involving the Klongchan Credit Union Cooperative (KCUC).

LOL.

"...Paisit said the agency would await the senior monks’ replies before deciding on their next move in the hunt for Phra Dhammachayo..."

Paisit said he had also sent a letter to the acting abbot of Wat Dhammakaya asking if Phra Dhammachayo was still in the monastic compound and requiring a prompt written reply.

When they raid illegal gambling dens, do they send them letters or just go in and arrest people ?

Is " Dhammachayo " half and half?  He doesn't Look 100% Thai.

All you doubters should now hold you tongue (keyboard)! The DSI said they had a plan........and.........here it is. OK, not a very good plan, but it is a plan, and I sure it will turn out just as, well, expected.

Please respect the Department of Special Investigations, for they are indeed Special and as such have "Special Needs".

I thought this guy was to sick to arrest. But he is not sick enough to travel. Now he is on the run.

This is so pathetically desperate. What next? "We don't know where he is because the Buddhist leaders didn't reply to our letter. It's their fault!".

They're simply passing the buck around like a beach ball at a Nickelback concert. It's like when your mum or teacher would say to you as a child "I don't care what so-and-so has or hasn't done. They're not responsible for 'your' work". You'd soon learn that you simply can't get away with BS excuses and if you're too lazy to do your work, you simply accept the punishment.

Depends on how well connected the chap running the gambling den is...

DSI: Help us, oh worthy ones, for we are clueless fumblers...

Buddhist Leaders: We will meditate on it.

DSI (having an inspiration): Reward...share...percentage...off shore...

Buddhist Leaders: You are well intentioned, my oafish children. Let's talk.

Ha ha , yes!

I have a very cunning plan....

This should have about same level of success as when Americans thought local Muslim militias would catch Osama for them as he headed for Pakistan border. Saffron is thicker than holy water.... (not sure what part of brain that gurgled up from)

double post...

If police are confronted by an angery mob at the temple, just fly over it and drop 20,000 bees, wasps and hornets on them and watch them R U N....Good idea for crowd control in Thailand, America, U K, ect ect...

Ok so its a corrupt Monk but why the heck do other monks need to track him down according to the police.

Why "MUST" they participate in  the Monks arrest Its not their job If the police cannot do their job they should not be in that position Plain and simple

I heard the DSI are sending their crack interrogators (the waterboard div) to investigate. :cheesy:

This shows the incompetent nature of this police force. Useless

For you Thais out there I am sorry if I offended you, but it appears to me the average Thais do not learn much from Buddha's teaching at all.

The serious crimes reports and other problems of the Thais society reflect badly on Thailand as a Buddhist society.
