Army Chief Gen. Chalermchai Sithisart distributed 300 relief bags to flood-stricken people at Railway Community. Many homes have been inundated following six days of heavy rainfall. Local army units have been instructed to ensure that every inundated community receives assistance which includes temporary shelters, food, and a daily means of transportation until the situations return to normal. Flood levels in most places in Nakhon Si Thammarat have declined except for the low-lying areas in the municipality, Pak Panang, Haui Sai, Chaloem Phrakiat and Chian Yai districts which are still submerged under deep flood water. Gen. Chalermchai was told it would take at least two weeks for the inundation to subside to a safe level. -- nnt 2016-12-08
