yep wolves seem to have got it together at the right time, when we won at yours on the opening day

i wouldnt have predicted the same outcome atm for both teams, ps well played last night . dished out a harsh lesson you did, played full of confidence , total opposite of us

I just think West Ham will stay up because Hull and Burnley are even worse than they are......however I reckon Pompey would have sent the Hammers down if they had not had the points deduction.

But the last part of my statement will have to wait till the end of the season to be confirmed

Ooooooooh it's grim, very grim..

Most disorganised West Ham Team i can remember, Chelsea scoring 7 on Saturday, Millwall scoring 5, Pond Life looking like a good Football Team for a change & odds on for CL Football next Year, it doesn't get much worse for this for West Ham Fan's Chaps than it currently is, that's for sure.. :D

But <deleted> em i say, COYI, even if we have nothing else we have our loyalty, pride & sense of humour even through horrific times like these & that's something which Supporters of the above Teams would barely know anything about & can only dream of... :)

Yep hats off, i thought you were great but honestly suing, we were absoolutely <deleted> dreadful & many are saying that was the worst West Ham performance in many a Year including 2-0 defeat at Gillingham & a 3-0 Cup Replay at Grimsby that i wen too..

Devoid of idea's, heart, Players not giving a <deleted> about the Shirt & what it represents but oh well, that's the Premiership for you, good riddance & i look on the brightside, next Year i'll be off the Booze sitting indoors on Saturday nights watching myp2p & any stream i can get of us.. :)

Zola has that look of a Keegan about him on the touch line. Iconic for his on-field prowess, but pretty dire when in charge. Iconic managers always get the fans buzzing at the start and often the team follow suit for a while on the field. But after a long cold winter and the realities of how hard it is in the British leagues to perform as a manager sink in, Icons often can't quite cut it and fade away.............

Too much is made of a manager's role nowadays, especially at clubs that have limited resources.Zola hasn't had a lot of choice when it comes to team selection through injuries with Yer 'Ammers so when the players take the park, he just hopes and prays that they listen to his pre match instructions....battle,close down opponents, defend in numbers, play as a team etc. so,when they please themselves as they did against Wolves,he gets the flak.Next, they'll be asking him to get his boots on as well.

It doesn't do any good either when the King of Porn twists the knife.

While I feel for Zola and Hammers fans generally, his failure to swallow his pride and play a more conservative way in lieu of his resources and what is at stake has cost his team many a point this year IMO. Hope it does not make a Newcastle out of them.

& rightly so he takes the flak Albs aye ??

I mean, i've watched us now in hundreds of Games, maybe even 4 figures now i don't know & i honestly honestly can't remember seeing a West Ham side so disorganised as regulary as it is..

There are key points to what has screwed us & i'll give you a couple.

Losing Collins & Neill who may ot be everyne's cup of Tea & replacing them by converting a " i don't know what " ( Faubert ) into a RB & buying Manuel Da Costa who seems to be many things but not a Premiership Centre Back has royally screwed us mor ethan many wwould imagine i'm guessing..

Add to that gambling on an Italian Royio of the Roversio ( Diamante ) from Serie B AND then playing him out of position ALL of the time is utter madness & has proved extremely costly..

It was enough of a gamble to buy that Player in the situation we was/are in, it was suicidal to play him out of position in every game he has started so far as doing so leaves us so exposed on one side of the Pitch that's it's no wonder that our defence has been getting crucified for the majority of the Season & then add the Collins/Neil situation & you have possible relegation....

It's thoroughly depressing & even more so when you believe you can see what the problems are but the Manager can't which is a tad worrying to say the least.. :)

I reckon he's been unlucky, young Singhy.I've taken an interest in the 'Ammers fortunes because I've got loads of mates who are fans and, obviously, Zola as he was my all time favourite player.

When Zola and Clarke came in September 2008,it was Zola's first managerial appointment and I remember him saying that he was in it for the long run and it would be a 5 year project. All his important players were fit and playing and Carlton Cole blossomed from a player going nowhere to an England international under Zola's guidance. You went on to finish 9th.Then,just when he wanted to crack away and bring in some quality, the Icelandics went skint. In that situation, good players won't come so he's had to shop around to find who's available. You haven't got the depth in the squad so injuries to important players at critical times of the season like Cole (I reckon he's still carrying an injury),Collinson,Parker,Behrami,Ilunga,Noble (in Cantona's terminology,he's a 'water carrier' but does a job) and Faubert have meant that he's HAD to play some players out of position. In Diamante's defence, the fact that he came from Serie B doesn't mean he's shit. There's a lot worse than him knocking around at Upton Park.I reckon he's a player who can find a man with a defence splitting pass plus he can take a mean free kick. The problem with him is that he wants to do too much because of the lack of quality around him.Upson is the biggest disappointment of all because,as an experienced England international,he should be taking the lead on the field. He looks more and more like a player who wants out.His attitude reminds me of Lucas Neill's before he went.

Ofcourse,Zola has fuc_ked up on occasions, even the most experienced managers do,but his mistakes are highlighted because of the lack of depth you have.Ferguson,Benitez and Ancellotti get away with it because they can call upon class in their squad.I reckon he's a young manager worth persevering with.

Westham 0

Stoke city 1

Even game but that bit of magic from Ricci won the game.No magic in sight for Westham but an improvement from that awful display against Wolves. To get Mido in is desperate measures and the team hasnt got the fight in their bellies overall.Defense not good enough at the moment and you will suffer if Zola doesnt get this area sorted.

Last season the experts were saying Newcastle were too good to go down,i fear it could be the same for whu

I disagree with quite a bit there to be fair OG, but agree with some..

Tegarding Diamante, i feel for him, i really do, but Zola has not played in his most clearly obvious position EVER. It's madness OG, utter madness. He regulary plays him out of position, exposing his weaknesse's but that doesn't mean he's a bad Footballer..

If Ancelotti played Solomon Kalou at Centre Back he'd be exposed to his weaknesse's too, wouldn't mean Kalou was a bad Footballer though would it ?

His Tactocs are appaling though also OG aswell as his Team selections & yes he had a bit of bad luck with the Icelandic's etc but that doens't make him play 3 Central Midfielders & a Striker in a 4 Man Midfield with an 18 Year Old Left Back playing behind the Striker who is playing on the left wing does it ??

No, not for me, learn your trade somehwere else Zola, WHUFC is no one's Guinea Pig especially not yours..

As one who is not a West Ham fan but appreciative of their great contribution to English football over the years I am a little mystified as to where Zola's number 2, Steve Clarke, fits into the equation . Many would argue that with his experience at Chelsea etc he could well be a Manger in his own right. Surely Zola calls upon him for advice or is given it by Clarke. After watching their last 2 matches Zola may well be part of the problem with team selection and some doubtful transfers ,Mido etc but the players have to shoulder the majority of the blame. No Manger tells you to give the ball away for one. Finally the last thing the team needs right now is one of the owners sticking his 2 bobs worth in re their performances and talking of a move to a bigger stadium, why?, when you cant fill the one you have. Hopefully they will stay up and get things sorted out.

To be fair Sparks, i think Coaching Chelsea with Chelsea Players, Roman's Money, Mr Mourinho etc etc is a bit different to Coaching West Ham, West Ham Players etc etc & that may be the problem..

I don't think you need to be a top quality Coach coaching the likes of <deleted>, Drogba, Malouda etc as they are some of the best Footballers on the Planet but i know for a fact you have to be a good Coach to coach the likes of Noble, Carlton Cole & Julien Faubert if you them expect to compete in the same League as Chelsea, as we currently are, surely ??

Just look at Fulham, Everton & even Birmingham this Season for proof of that.

Mido's not a doubtful Transfer Sparks, he is on Loan & on One Thousand Pounds per week, he didn't cost 28m on 90k per week so that should be put into persepctive when people critisize Mido as i certainly won't, he tries much more & gives more effort than other allegedly good Players that we have too.

& the Stadium ?? Sparks, along with T*ttenham, we are the the best supported Club WITHIN London Mate, by a million miles..Chelsea & Arsenal both dream of having support as loyal as ours & the Y*ds. We have an average Gate which is at 91% of our Capacity & that 9% remaining is generally the Away following which hasn't taken up it's allocation..No problem with putting bums on Seats at our Gaff & take into consideration also that we are the 4th most expensive Team to watch in the Premiership yet are the 4th worst Team in it !!!!! It's no coincidence that both ourselves & the Y*ds are lookign to possibly expand our Stadiums & i think if we both do then we both can most definately fill them.

Madness aye ??

Excellent point MSingh. When I lived in Plaistow nearly everone I spoke to was a Hammers fan. You won't find this local support in other areas of London for sure.

Both of our clubs desperately need new and bigger stadiums to compete at the highest level. Both our clubs have the space and ability to do so but in our case transport links have again been scuppered by TfL. Not surprising since we are in the 'unfashionable' part of London.

Well i loved back there in 2001/02 i think it was after coming back from the States with a Bird & at that time it was very close to being hel_l on Earth in my opinion & had changed dramatically ( & for the worse ) from when i grew up there.

Not that long ago either as i'm only a Puppy ( born in 79 ) but Plaistow was horrible 8/9 Years ago, i know that much so i don't live in hope for it now.

Sad.

You speak the truth MSingh, you do :) Do you remember when Chelsea were shit and you went to the bridge and it was half empty, cos the could'nt be bothered to travel in from Surrey :D Arsenal support not even worth a mention. Apparently we can fill 55000 with season tickets holders, so having seen the finished plans for our new stadium i'm left wondering why it's only 58000 capacity..

Uncle Sparks does have the habit of coming onto other clubs forums and talking complete pony, I did once suggest he stays on the man u forum but he obviously didn't heed my advice :) , or at least get his facts right .

Well Mr Conn what facts do I have wrong. I am making the point ,which appears difficult for you to understand that in Steve Clarke they have a very experienced coach albeit most of that time was with Chelsea. When he and Zola were appointed, by WH ,it was seen by many to be an excellent decision . They jointly should have the know how to steer WH through.I didnt say that Mido cost a lot of money I just dont see him as a solution to their on field problems . I also see interference from owners as a negative step especially at this time. Opinions, Mr Conn, same as yours or anybody elses. Finally I was not aware I needed your permission to enter a thread and as for heeding your advice I find your smug, conceited opinions rather juvenille and maybe you should heed your own advice and get back to your own forum wher you may be able to add something constructive.
