Another weak excuse which simply amplifies the fact the authorities are prepared to say anything and do anything to avoid doing their job.

Are the seven companies of BIB and support units, other than forensic science of course, still on standby and if so for what, an operation that will never take place or is all the ' standby ' nonsense just more BS ?

It's a disgrace the deputy national police chief admits to a ' lack of preparedness ' but it's probably not an excuse just a statement of fact as why should they prepare for something they'll never be called on to carry out ?

A Mexican standoff

There isn't a great deal for the forensic police to deal with except rubber gloves if any 'evidence' was found. It isn't as if they are going into some hijacked place expecting to find dead bodies everywhere and to top it all they've had more than enough to prepare. That some posters suggest there is lack of thought when giving reasons I think is a compliment...I don't think there is the space in the appropriate organ in the first place, if you see what I mean.

Seems that walls and gates can be used to prevent travel in or out if a confined area is behind them. This is sometimes refered to as a jail / prison by those who are associated with it.  Do as has been suggested, cut off power, water, etc. get a head count and sell them rice fish soup which they have to pay for. Have enough that everyone can get 1000 calrie per day. If new arrivals want in, let them in just make everyone aware anyone trying to escape will be shot by the army snipers stationed around the complex.

Let that play out for a week or so and see where things go from there.

This whole thing is an utter travesty. The case just shows that the security authorities are sh*t scared of the Buddhist hierarchy that is rotten to the core. A little old man in Chiang Rai who gives a flower to a protester earlier this year was subjected to enormous pressure and threats. But a saffron robed crook has given the whole government the run around for months if not years.

The PM demands that we show respect to him and the whole security apparatus but fails to see that the shambling incompetence of his lily livered securocrats and their underlings in this case simply shows us that as long as you are a common person you will be treated to corruption and harsh treatment, but if you are in any structure that claims to be Buddhist or are an "elite" you will be treated with kid gloves or even exonerated.

Shame on you mister PM and your so called security apparatus.

Farangs in Thailand cannot stand this kind of nonsense. Buddha is not God and never acknowledged by monks as God yet these group of people who deal with them are worried of public outcry.

Thailand will never come to anything with this kind of thinking. The Abhidharma (the highest teaching of Buddha) is very scientific yet Thai people are believing in Ghosts and black magic, even seek the services of these masters who claimed to have power.

What do these forensic units have to prepare, how many months do they need to find the car keys?  Not sure how they  operate in Thailand but forensic/crime scene units in Australia can hit the road at the drop of a hat.  They are always prepared with vehicles and equipment ready at all times to deal with what ever incident may arise.

Why are you comparing Australia forensic units with Thailand forensic units?  You know only too well you need to give Thailand about 40 years before they could catch up. May be they could.
