30,000 baht cash reward offered for arrests of football fans firing flares at Rajamangala stadium 

 

 

BANGKOK: -- The Football Association of Thailand has set aside 30,000 baht as cash rewards for informers who give useful information that lead the police to arrest a group of football fans responsible for litting flares to celebrate the winning of Thailand over Indonesia at the Rajamangala National Stadium on Saturday.

 

Each informer will get 30,000 baht cash reward for necessary information, according to Pol Gen Somyot Poompanmuong, president of the association.

 

Pol Gen Somyot, a former commissioner of the Royal Thai Police, said the association has some information of this group of football fans but would like to get cooperation from other football fans to help the police to arrest them for firing flares to celebrate the winning of the Thai team, the War Elephants, over Indonesia in the AFF Suzuki Cup final.

 

He said the association has set aside 30,000 baht to pay to informers if the information they give could lead the police to arrest up to 10 unruly fans.

 

Each informer will be paid 30,000 baht, he said.

 

He said several plainclothes policemen were among the fans and have videotaped the persons who fired the flares.

 

He said the police did not stop this certain group of fans on the spot for fear of triggering untoward incident.

 

He said he also heard that some fans were injured by the flares and he would like them to file complaints with the police so that more charges would be imposed on these people when they were arrested.

Set aside 30,000 yet every informant is going to get 30,000. They must be only expecting one informant?

I hate those flares, far from hot and bright enough, and they never smoke enough to encompass the whole stadium to block everyone's views of the game.
