Police affirm all at fault in Sukhumvit building collapse will face justice

BANGKOK, 21 December 2016 (NNT) – The commander of the Metropolitan Police has affirmed that all at fault in the collapse of a building in Sukhumvit Soi 87 will face justice.

Rescue workers have been able to remove another body from the rubble of a collapsed 8 story building in Sukhumvit Soi 87 after digging down over 3 meters. The confirmed casualty tally from the accident has been set at 4 people with one body yet to be recovered.

Officials noted that the latest body recovered showed indications of an attempt to rescue another victim of the incident. Workers are still evaluating how to proceed with removing the fourth and final body as the rubble is still considered in danger of further collapse.

Commander of the Metropolitan Police Pol Lt Gen Sanit Mahathaworn meanwhile made known that civil engineers have been called in for advice on how to proceed with the case after 4 individuals related to companies handling the building heard charges of wrongdoing. The civil engineers are to aid in deciding whether more parties are at fault.

The police chief also let on that the Right and Liberties Protection Department has been tapped to offer the families of each of the incident’s victims 100,000 baht in reparations.

Justice and Law is a joke here.....money does all the talking

All those at fault will face justice .

Dependant on how influential they are, will depend on what justice they face.

Wow posting many RIP

Just 4 people in a building….miracle it wasn't more….and just 100K comp.

Terrible.

I don't really beieve we will ever know who really owned the building or was responsible for it's actual mintainance.

Not the fist time such a thing has happened in Bangkok not to speak of Thailand.

For the wealthy and infliential, profit is more important than resposibility.

Flavor of the day. Your number is up. Flog fleece and then sometime in the future release.

Justice? Or justice Thai style?

Make the justice fit the crime. Give em both a sledgehammer and tell them to clean the mess up.

I see they have gotten tired of the word 'vow' and has started using 'affirm'.

Sure they will. Just like so many other wealthy people in Thailand face justice.

If convicted murderers get bail, why should we believe anything remotely close to Justice will happen to those responsible for this.
