TM30 form requirements

Featured Replies

Dear members

For the last few years I have been coming to thailand for 1 month a year and living in our house in thailand (I suppose technically my wife's house as she owns the land).  We stay in the  house and residing area for the whole month.  I have just been reading alot about the TM30  form and with this,  as normal nothing seems clear !!!  and I have never filled in one before and registered with my previous visits .

I have been in thailand for the last 30 days at our address (filled in on the airport immigration form), however this time I have a 90 day married visa, which I will have to extend for 20 days .

The question are :-

1) Do I have to register a TM30 and should I have done it for my previous visits.

2) Does this has to be registered at the local thai police office

3) What will happen as I have been here 30 days already without registering

4) Will i need a tm30 before I look for a visa extension

5) what is the impact of not registering  ?

Any help would be appreciated

regards

Richard

There is no 20 day extension you can apply for. You can apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife. She will need to be with you when you apply.

1. Your wife would do the TM30 form since she is the home owner.

2. At a the local immigration office.

3/4/5 That depends upon the local immigration offices policy.

Some will want it and others not. Some will fine your wife for not doing it (800 baht a most offices).

Thanks for your reply   (you can tell I am a 90 day first timer..........)

There is no real local immigration office , so I take it it will be the local police office

At the moment the 'head man' of the village is looking at it ,  I take it he will not have the authority to sanction it and that it has to be the police

On another question that will arise later .................

Is the 90 address notification to immigration , different to obtaining a visa extension and they both need to be actioned  , or does one count for the other . if you know what I mean

An extension and reports of staying longer that 90 days in the country are two separate things.

Your first 90 day report is due 90 days from the date you apply for an extension of stay. You can do them in person, by mail or online. In person you can do them  up to 15 days before or 7 days after the report date.

Thanks again this is most helpful - as I will never get to the end of the 90 extension as I will be back in the UK by then, I will not have to ever action the reporting steps at least not this time

Richard
