guy_l0ndon
you guessed correct. I would like 4 walls and a bed. Whilst I have been to thailand quite a few times I have not been to Samui. So any ideas in what area I should look as I really cant be bothered to get ripped off yet again. any assistance would be great
valentinoxxx
Why is it that you want to be near the "town"? What is your budget? If you can't be bothered to supply more details you may not get many willing to put in the time for you.
guy_l0ndon
My budget would be 20,000 baht per month and somewhere which is not full of people clubbing. Sorry for lack of details b4. I would be grateful for assistance on the rules of renting in Thailand. regards guy
taxexile
check into a hotel or resort for a couple of days. rent a bike or car. use those days to drive around and check out some of the hundreds of houses or bungalows that are available for rent on a weekly/monthly basis. if chaweng is too noisy for you then try the maenam/bophut side of the island. if that seems too busy then head over to the taling naam/bang kao area. turn off the main road either in the direction of the sea, or inland if you are partial to a greener ambience, and enquire wherever you see a house to let sign. 20k should get you a pretty upmarket house. 12 ish will get you something ok (air,tv,cable, dvd player) when you find something you like ,negotiate for your 6 weeks or whatever, check if elec. and water are included and move in. shouldnt take more than a day or two to find somewhere. good luck. guy_l0ndon
Thank you for that, with deposits etc. Do I pay weekly or monthly or is just like everything else, open for negotiation. guy
taxexile
if you pay the whole lot upfront you might get a reduction, otherwise probably pay weekly.
