I would be grateful for information with regards to applying for a Thai Tourist Visa in Yangoon.

 

I have read on some old blogs from about 3 years ago that a flight ticket into Thailand from Myanmar is needed, before you can apply for a Thai Tourist visa in Yangoon.

 

I was hoping to return to Thailand at the land crossing at Mae Sot and not flying back to Thailand.

The application form indicates a hotel booking next to a border crossing is acceptable, and if you have a confirmed bus ticket it would help. But I can't say for sure.

Thanks Nick, I found the Yangoon website and yes it says " a hotel reservation near a border crossing". I wonder if it means a hotel reservation on the Thai side, I guess so :-)

 

I am hoping the tourist visa will be free from Yangoon as I think many Thai consulates are doing free visas up until the 28th of Feb?
