BANGKOK, 3 December 2017 (NNT) – The security overview during the New Year holidays is at a satisfactory level with no incident affecting national security, with police prepared to facilitate Bangkok-bound travels as holidays end.

The Metropolitan Police Commissioner Pol Lt Gen Sanit Mahathavorn announced the overview of security protection during the New Year holidays that the situation remains orderly with no security threat, while only one arrest has been made on New Year’s Eve for the violation of fireworks ban directive.

He said no disruption to the traffic persists at the moment, while the police are prepared to provide immediate action to solve congestion. He also reiterated there are prepared plans to facilitate the general public travelling back to Bangkok as the holidays end.

The metro police chief mentioned the road safety campaign now has thousands of people charged with traffic rules violation and must pay their fine, while the number is likely to not exceed 10,000 cases when the campaign comes to an end on 4 January 2017.
