Any advice on overstay / visa problem appreciated.

Basically had passport stolen mid September. Had 1 month VOA to expire on start of October.

got replacement UK Passport back at end of October.

Have necessary documentation: replacement passport, embassy letter, police report

but did not have necessary overstay funds (20,000) until now. Working 2 part-time teaching jobs and the hours have been low.

I know I must go to Immigration to get replacement stamp and pay overstay.

Not sure what to do next? Try for TV or just do 1 day visa run. Only have about 10k to cover visa expenses until end December.

OK Biggest worry is refused re-entry to Thailand or given 7 day visa to get out of Thailand. Don't have the money to go anywhere till start of the new year.

thanks for your help

Are you saying it took 6 weeks to get a replacement passport, or you just waited a while before you requested one?

If so, your gonna have to deal with this eventually, the longer you wait, the deeper the shit you will be in and the larger your fine will be. You should of gone to immigration before your last permission to stay period expired and told them about you passport, but since you didnt do that, now the only option you have is to go there and tell them you just got your replacement pasport back and show the police report and letter from the embassy. Who knows what they will do, but if you show these doccuments at a border post when trying to leave they will proably just laugh and make you pay the full fine. I would go to immigration, if your story is correct and you can proove it, the chances are better that they might waive the overstay fine and give you afew days to leave, well thats what you hope for at least.
