Acleda Bank, one of the leading banks in the country, has invested some $37 million for the construction of the Acleda Institute of Business which aims to build a cadre of professionals in the kingdom and regionally. “The institute will provide priceless business education to aspiring professionals to ensure that institutions employing them will get the best in the sector,” said In Channy, Acleda’s president and group managing director, at the groundbreaking ceremony on Friday.

“Investment in education is a long-term one, with returns only realized between three to five years’ time. Acleda has invested $37 million in the institute to ensure the development of a continuous stream of professional cadres in the business sector,” added Mr. Channy. He said the institute is wholly owned by Acleda and the business curriculum would be aligned to meet professional business demands in the country and Asean.

So Phonnary, chairperson of the institute’s board of directors, said Acleda was committed to contributing to the economic growth of the country. “The Acleda Institute of Business has set its own vision to be a leading institute of excellence in providing superior quality of education and training services. The institute’s graduates will have high professional competency in finance and banking that would enable them to seek employment in local, regional and international financial institutions,” said Ms. Phonnary.
