" the proposed Thai-Chinese high speed rail deal"

Is that the Chinese-Thai medium-speed freight-line, from China via Laos down to Laem Chabang, or the Thai-Chinese medium-speed domestic-passenger proposals, which he means ?

I wonder what the cost is when the first old buffalo gets hit by a high speed train, not to mention a flat bed ford.

The junta seems to be having a Dickens of a time progressing two of its major initiatives...

Democratic elections in Thailand, and High-Speed Trains.

Still, there's always tomorrow. Oh yes, that's right, the proverb tells us that "Tomorrow never comes" - seems appropriate for Thailand under junta domination !!!

Judging by the number of deaths resulting from the current slow-moving trains colliding with blind/drunk/deaf drivers of vehicles, any delay in implementing the arrival of the "high-speed" trains can only save lives.

Methinks they finally bought a magnifying glass and started to read the fine print at the bottom. China is pulling this scam all around the planet. They are helping themselves under the guise of helping countries improve their infrastructure. Countries are no different than people who have their nose pressed up against the showroom window desiring something they obviously cannot afford. Countries as well have no idea how to live within their means with all this cheap credit floating around. The future for these countries is universal bondage Chinese style. The age old idea of conquering the world has just been redefined.
