Gambling den in the woods busted - 42 arrests made

BANGKOK: -- A well organized gambling den in the woods of Pathum Thani was busted yesterday by soldiers and police.

 

Forty two arrests were made and a large amount of evidence was gathered.

 

Soldiers had planned the raid for one month. The gambling den in the Nong Seaua district had lookouts with radios to warn of movements by the authorities, reports Thairath.

 

But yesterday police and soldiers made their move into the woods. They rounded up 42 men and women playing hi-lo and other dice games. Some 50,000 baht was taken into evidence along with 10 cars, 18 motorcycles, gambling equipment and two radios.

 

The den was equipped with its own electric supply so that fans were set up for the gamblers' convenience. There was even a restaurant set up to supply their needs.

 

The only person named was local man Jong Phantaeng, 62, who police said was in charge.

I'm seeing Pathum Thani quite often. I wonder why?

We can all sleep more safely tonight as a result of this sterling police effort.

at their best... way to go..make the country safe for morality...

There's a massive one in Phuket but the authorities are too scared to take it down due to who is involved. I've actually been chased out of the area.

Perhaps the word "priorities" does not translate to Thai language?

 

But there is going to be some p**ssed off local administration official or policeman or military man after this bust!

 

OMG I just hope those senior citizens from Pattaya are not setting up in the woods anywhere. 

Small time gambling busted but thailand and it's news has a habit of reporting similar stories.  I expect and I hope a bigger take down is also in sight.
