BANGKOK: -- Police on Thursday searched the office of Pol Col Amnuay Pongsawat, former superintendent of Ban Pong district police, to look for possible evidences linked to the kidnap and murder of a woman, Ms Supaksorn Ponthaisong.

The search was conducted by police from Nong Khang Plu police station led by Pol Lt-Col Virote Chanhom, the deputy superintendent of Nong Khang Plu police. It was not known whether any evidences were found.

Pol Col Amnuay was relieved from police service pending investigation. He admitted that he ordered his men to slap Ms Supaksorn on her head “to teach her a lesson”, but denied any involvement in her murder.

Two suspects, Niwat Sueythong and Poomithat Piboonsawat, were today escorted by police to Soi Petchkasem 116 in Buddha Monthon area for re-enactment. Both reportedly pleaded guilty.

Amnuay

BANGKOK: -- A LOVE TRIANGLE and a scorned woman’s wrath could be the motive for the abduction and murder of Bangkok resident Supaksorn Polthaisong, city police chief Pol Lt-General Sanit Mahathavorn said yesterday.

Ratchaburi’s Ban Pong Police Station superintendent Pol Colonel Amnuay Pongsawat, 58, allegedly ordered others to abduct the 28-year-old Supaksorn and “teach her a lesson” due to a Bt4-million debt he claimed the victim borrowed from his 38-year-old mistress, Kannikar Krumram.

Amnuay said that he had financially supported Kannikar for three years so she could save money, Sanit said.

Yeah you go man, teach her a lesson she'll never forget, abduct her, torture

and murderer her,

I doubt the 4 million baht story very much too, so she ' borrowed 4 million baht

and she was still waitressing in some up country dive?

I hope this disgusting poor excuse for a man, if found guilty,

will get what coming to him ......

Wow...how did he amassed Bt4m in 3 years to give his mistress, and still feed his own family and himself? Police charity?

The higher they get in the police force the bigger the corruption.

Your cop on the street wants 200 baht, but when you get to being colonel it is 10.000- 20.000 baht each time.

This story is beyond belief.

Thai police - the envy of every country without a police force.

Nice pock marked face and spotted neck. He hasn't been playing freckles has he?

He certainly is every girls dream man, thats why she

had enough money to lend her friend 4 Mil THB.

Lets hope justice is seen to be done ,and it is not just

the 2 who have pleaded guilty, that end up in prison.

regards worgeordie

Agreed. It is clearly obvious why police candidates are prepared to pay big money to cheat in entrance exams. If they reach a high enough level in the force then the world is their oyster. Not to mention the huge retirement fund which is accumulated over time.

The faces of these creeps tell a story, power without honour. Sad, brutal, empty, corrupt no contentment.

They gave themselves a life sentence when they cheated at the entry exam, just so sad they need to harm others in the pitiful attempt to shape the world around them to the way they think it should be.

financial support meaning at least: pay her rent, clothing, living expenses

plus giving her cash of at least 4 mio bt in these 3 years...

let's call it 2 mio bt/year = 6 mio bt for his mistress

plus I assume he still has his own family and wife to take care of

... another (un)usually wealthy Thai Police Officer. Wonder if he cheated at his entry exam.

Did they check his closet?

Sanit said he believed that Kannikar was involved in the murder and possibly provided information to the abductors.

I see where this is going...

police chief Pol Lt-General Sanit Mahathavorn is starting the brotherhood's protection procedure

...That's normal where unusual wealth comes with the position.

I would truly love to see some organized, peaceful, mass street demonstrations against RTP corruption across the whole of Thailand.

The world would see it, the Gov couldn't ignore it anymore. Maybe that would be the beginning of some real change (but TIT).

They should fire the whole lot of them, replace them with the military temporarily, and reform the system with all new officers. No more paying for your position, harsh penalties for any corruption.

Don,t they have a system here to reclaim money you lend perhaps a stupid question as this is the Land of The Wild West 18 something or other

Never Lend money to a Thai

as this writer can confirm

wish I could say more but not here

But what happened to our friend, you will read soon and it will shock you

A RTP cop doing this what does it say to the rest of the worlds Police about Thailand

If I was a Cop or border patrol in another country I would make any Thai cop who visited my county life's hell while he was there as too many Farangs die here

Ms Supaksorn Ponthaisong RIP and many will remember You

Prayut should amass a team to investigate all members of the police and judiciary along with other high level members of the local and national governments, governors, land office staff, or bor tor and mayors.  Have accountants schedule their assets along with details of how they managed to own them.  Kick out all who fail the honesty test and simultaneously educate and train  several thousand to take over the jobs of those found guilty.

If you want to tackle corruption that is the easy way - just follow the money.   It is what the western banks do to check up on people, not the Thai banks though who are thoroughly careless and not squeaky clean themselves being infiltrated at local level by corrupt and poorly supervised staff.

How disgusting to hit a woman. I guess his career has come to a screeching halt like a transfer.

RIP Thai woman.

How long has Manuel Noriega been in Thailand?

It will never change even in Prayuts time frame 20 yrs,sad sad............
