I have bailed two of my wife's brothers out of jail for drug use, the 1st one has turned out well the 2nd was recent and seems to be doing ok but we shall see. If either return to jail they will not get help from me. I will tell the wife that I will leave if she tries to force me, and I will leave if she persists. This male culture really needs some drastic change that way. Spoiling your child is the worst thing you can do to them, when will mothers learn this?

I see  elements of this kind of logic in many or most interactions with Thais. Criminal narcissism is how psychologists frame this type of thinking.

Hard to explain, but the essence seems to be "...I deserve it because I am Thai and YOU......are an outsider." It's a form of entitlement which many groups feel because they deem themselves, somehow "superior" to other groups. Thais are not unique in this feeling. Japanese feel this way, as well. Many in southeast Asian countries look down on Thais as lazy and entitled. Not at all far from the truth.
