Wifey does not listen to husband,do not lend to friends .....ever ...or family.Quite a lot,one guy did a runner after borrowing from several neighbors !One sold his house and disappeared there are more but if its dicey then I will forget and write ofto experience...or she will.

If there is nothing in writing, then you have no chance to get your money back with legal means.

Any not so legal means we do not want to discuss here...

We got a similar issue with my Mrs brother. He lent the lad building a house next to her family 50 baht. That was 2 years ago. The lads not been back since and the house is unfinished and deserted. That's 50 baht to confirm lol.

 

When we moved to her old city some old friend appeared asking for 500 baht. My mrs asked what she should do. I said lend it her we will never get a better bargain than that and we will never see her again.

 

Makes sense that money lenders here take a surety in the form of motorcycle etc.
