WASHINGTON/SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump fired the federal government's top lawyer Sally Yates on Monday after she took the extraordinarily rare step of defying the White House and saying the Justice Department would not defend his new travel restrictions targeting seven Muslim-majority nations.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Investigators have solved the 1976 murder of the ex-wife of Righteous Brothers singer Bill Medley, using DNA analysis to confirm she was slain by a career burglar who was killed six years later as a prison escapee, police said on Monday.

Lottery Office warns of lifetime ban on lottery sale

WASHINGTON/SEOUL (Reuters) - U.S. Defence Secretary James Mattis and his South Korean counterpart agreed during a phone call on Monday to strengthen their defence against "the evolving North Korean threat," the Pentagon said, amid reports the North may be preparing a new missile test.

PHUKET: -- A 15-year-old male elephant showing signs of aggressive behaviour possibly due to it being the mating season thrashed it’s mahout yesterday leaving the man with an injured hand.

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – A group of technology companies plans to meet on Tuesday to discuss filing an amicus brief in support of a lawsuit challenging U.S. President Donald Trump’s order restricting immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries, said a spokesperson for a company organizing the gathering.
