January 31, 20179 yr I realize that Pattaya most likely does not have a health department checking on hygiene standards so it is up to private enterprises to do their best in providing food that is not contaminated or spoiled. For the past ten years, I cannot figure why the Family Marts in Pattaya have no screen or "nose-guard" protecting their sausages on the rotating electric rotisserie. To make matters worse, the electric rotisserie is right next to the cash register where people from various countries line up touching or sneezing over the grilled meat. mmmmm-good! I sent Family Mart an email once, but received only a "canned" thank you comment.

January 31, 20179 yr I see many buying those so called hotdogs, junk food of the highest order. OK never tried one, loosing my appetite by looking at them. In my native Denmark hotdog stands are a part of the central cityscape, man on a cold day having one or two with raw onions/mustard/ketchup was heaven. Getting hungry now.
January 31, 20179 yr At least they are inside the shop, not like all the chickens you see getting roasted and coated with diesel fumes and grit at the side of the roads!!

February 1, 20179 yr A nose guard? That gooey yellow stuff on some of the sausages isn't cheese you know.
February 1, 20179 yr Hot Dog ? Surely you mean - Lips from both ends and the skin off the head in a clear synthetic tube.......?
February 1, 20179 yr Author Once in a while, a long black hair is thrown on top of the greasy wieners / sausages for added protein.
February 1, 20179 yr I wouldn't go near one of those Family Mart sausages if you paid me. I don't even like looking at them... At my local FM I'll often see flies buzzing around them, and it doesn't even look like that grill thing is hot. Sometimes it's not even rotating... And would anyone bet against the sausages that are selected for rotisserie duty being the ones that they can't display any more because the expiry date is up?
