BANGKOK: -- THE GOVERNMENT urged people not to connect the sentence of two “men in black” on Tuesday to its current effort towards reconciliation.

Maj-General Sansern Kaew-kamnerd said yesterday that the issues were not the same and wrongdoers must go through the normal legal process, while reconciliation looks forward to the country’s future.

Two of five “men in black” were sentenced by the Criminal Court on Tuesday to 10 years in jail each for possessing and carrying in public weapons without a permit, ammunition and explosive devices while they mingled with red-shirt demonstrators at a protest on April 10, 2010 at Khok Wua intersetion and on Tanao Road and Prachathipatai Road.

There is no reconciliation.  The government still thinks it is fooling its people.

How stupid do they think people really are?

When there are only two dots they are not particularly challenging to connect.

Quote from a English newspaper by Mr. Chaikasem Nitisiri Quote. " Reconciliation is a combination of science and art" I guess the dots are art and science is to connect them.

I think the "science" part is to throw all red-shirts in jail.

While the "art" is to let the yellows/greens skate, but with style.

So are illusions.

The people do know what is going on but they are sadly terrified to talk about politics.  In that sense, this junta as succeeded.

Anywhere else in the word but here.

I don't see why posters here known for their 'sympathy' towards the red militia feel the need to come up in favour of a few of the 'men in black' the PTP/UDD always denied the existence of, or, were at the least claiming they were 'from the other side'...?

P.S.: IMO, there was never any doubt they were police, or army, and 'rangers'...and rather from the group of mecreants a certain late Seh Daeng got the mission to recruit and train for/by his master. Most of have never been identified, caught, nor judged or sentenced, and probably wear their brown or green uniform again. Did anybody expect Thaksin's 'pretorian guard', the RTP, to succeed in that job (better than in any other)...?

Has Maj. Gen. Sanserm not been informed in due time, before his press release, the military, or should I say government, has, IMO wisely, adapted its communication to call 'it' 'unity' (which is something which can, for some visible part at leat, be forced, and enforced), instead of 'reconciliation' (which can't, being the product of each individuals' personal mind and opinion)...?

I know, it's confusing, as there was another article about the 'reconciliation committee'...

Ah, maj, Gen. Sanserm, when you would be telling the truth: that it is about looking at the country's future, what a relief that would be for many! Alas...
