As with printers I have found that a monitor is a throw away item. As in the repairs outweigh the cost or value. Maybe you should consider buying a new one? Also you should look into the warrenty(sp)? A year is pretty new.

It doesn't seem that long ago that I bought a Samsung flat screen monitor and it set me back about 40K Baht so I would not willingly consider it to be a "throw away item"

Mine is still going strong though :o

On the warranty I think 12 months is pretty standard.

Decent 17" Syncmaster is probably under 10,000 now.

Naka.

you can get a 19" LCD screen for about 10,000 now

the 17" are around 6000/7000

So yeah, screens are fast approaching the 'throw away' item category

Thank to you all, for your help. I know where I stand now, topic ended yaimar

I just ordered another DELL 24" wide unit for our second computer. My rule is if you buy cheap you usually have to buy it twice.

From IT Direct

All 19"

Acer 8,190

Benq 7,990

Samsung (both wide and standard) 8,990

Yes! now throw away items.....
