BANGKOK: -- Two immigration police officers who appeared in a photo posing with Laotian drug kingpin were transferred to the operation centres of the immigration Bureau to facilitate invest into their relationship with the Laotian drug kingpin Xaysana Kaewpimpa.

Pol Lt Walaisak Intarak, deputy inspector of Loei immigration office, was transferred to the operation centre if Immigration Bureau 4, while another immigration officer Pol Capt Patarapol Thueythong, deputy inspector of Suvarnabhumi immigration office was transferred to Immigration Bureau 2’s operation centre.

According to commander of Immigration Bureau 4 commander Pol Maj Gen Patipat Suban Na Ayutthaya, Pol Lt Walaisak claimed the photograph was taken two years ago at Loei immigration office.

He denied having known Xaysana personally saying the picture was taken at the time when several car rally teams crossed the border checkpoint.

He also has ordered an investigation into why the Laotian drug kingpin was not in the watch list of the Immigration Bureau.

For another immigration officer Pol Capt Patarapol, he was transferred to the Immigration Bureau 2’s operation centre to facilitate a probe into his connection.

He is now facing probe after being accused of having telephone contact with some members of Xaysana’s drug network. He was accused of allowing cars of some members of the network to park at the Suvarnabhumi airport.

Surely a temporary suspension until the case is resolved would be  more appropriate ?

Or am I being too logical ?

With the credability of the RTP as it is, I would have thought that having their officers seen and  known to be communicating with drug lords, would enhance their reputation. It's the drug dealer who should be worried

Stupid question I know... but
why are officers only ever transferred as apposed to being dismissed from the force?

No balls to sack them. their connections, etc. Even when caught red handed. At least have the balls to suspend without pay pending the results of the investigation.

To facilitate invest into their relationship? So they're looking at investing in this relationship? And having blocked out faces, at least one of which has already appeared in a prior published picture, they proceed to name them.

why are you blocking out the drug pushers face
