Non-B (Mauritian Citizens)

Featured Replies

Hello,

My new company is sending me to Ho Chi Min for visa B for Thailand. All documents are here and looks in order. I am a citizen of Mauritius and should not be a problem (I think so) for me to get the visa. How much time to get the visa?

Mauritius doe not appear on the consulate list of countries there with out being a resident. See: http://www.thaiembassy.org/hochiminh/en/services/63975-Additional-documents-required-for-citizens-from-so.html It does show on other nearby locations on the list of countries that can only apply in their home country.

I suggest you contact them to confirm you can apply for the visa there.

I did not mean to scare you. :sorry: if I did.

Just wanted you to check that the info on the website was correct.

Hi. All went well. They checked all my documents and saw that I had a new passport. I showed them the old one and they accepted my application and will have to collect it tomorrow at 13:30. Please note that for a tourist visa, I cannot apply as a mauritian citizen. This has to be done in my home country. For Non-B, I can apply as long as I have the proper documentation (which I had). The fee I had to pay was USD 80.

Hello ubonjoe. Got my visa B on Wednesday evening. Took a day only and was good. Like I mentioned to you, Tourist visa can only be applied from my home country or if I enter Thailand via selected points of entry. If the latter is chosen, I will only have 15 days for a fee of THB 1,000 (special fee from the Thai Government to attract tourism. This will soon end). Then the normal fee will be THB 2,000. Once again, thank you for your usual help and valuable advises. Appreciated.
