How long will this 4,300 baht bike last?

Featured Replies

It's hard to say from the photo but if you take care of it , keep the tyres pumped up,  lube the chain etc it could last for years and years until one day you sell it for 3000 baht.

It all depends on how much you use it. Around town , occasional 20 mile rides somewhere nice it should last a long time. However if you do a lot of miles on it daily or you weigh 150kg the low quality stuff will break quite soon.Spokes snap, wheel out of true , tyres split , pedals start to fall off, chain might snap?

I would buy it if that's your budget. Even if you sell it secondhand later you could get most of your money back. If you find you enjoy cycling the next step up would be 13-15000 baht for Trek, Giant or Merida which will then feel like a Rolls Royce. Make sure you get the correct size.

friends of mine all started with the cheap Chinese Trink MTBs but soon ran into trouble with bad gears and the changing  mechanisms not working properly. they soon upgraded to better bike in the medium price range like trek, Merida, Haro

Maybe it like everything else you get what you pay for

You'd be better off saving a bit more and going for a 10-15K Giant/Merida that has standard components and is upgradable as you wear parts out.

It'll take you a while to wear one out mind ;)
