BANGKOK: -- Reconciliation talks are set to kick off on Tuesday which falls on the St Valentine’s Day between three political parties and the committee to make preparations for the building of unity and reconciliation.

Defence Ministry spokesman Lt-Gen Kongcheep Tantravanich said on Monday that the Kwamwang Mai (New Aspiration) Party, the Kruakhai Chaona Haeng Prathet Thai (Thai Farmers’ Network) Party and the Khon Thammada Haeng Prathet Thai (Ordinary People) Prathet had accepted the invitation to meet with the committee at the ministry’s pavilion tomorrow from 9 am to noon for reconciliation talks.

The first round of talks will be chaired by the defence permanent secretary who will also take the opportunity to welcome representatives from the three parties, said the spokesman, adding the next meeting will take place on Wednesday afternoon between the committee and the Chart Pattana Party.

He further said that the committee would extend invitations to the other parties and political groupings and would wait for their replies so that meetings could be arranged at appropriate timings.

Some really prominent parties at this meeting...:coffee1:

Anyone that teaches in Thailand understands these meetings very well. Everyone sits around and talks for 2 hours. Someone makes a few notes. Notes get stuffed in a draw. nothing is achieved. Next month they have the same meeting and talk about the same thing.

Repeat and serve. Repeat and serve.

Not off to an exuberant start.  They will just reconcile to live with military rule.

I hope there will be no drinking at these parties!

How can the "Ordinary People" reconcile with the "Farmers", is it at all doable? I guess when you are surrounded by imaginary submarines anything can be become possible.

And the committee will be in full military dress side arms and all so vote yes. Intimidation is an option.
