Hi, Just need up to date info for a friend of mine.

He has a bank acc with Bangkok bank & has got his 800,000b saved in a 6mth fixed deposit account where he can make withdrawals if necessary. He has a passbook which he can print off the 3 mths transactions if any. Also does the account need to show activity on it if remaining over 800,000b?

Will this account be accepted by immigration when he does his renewal based on retirement?

I'm sure Ubonjoe can clarify this.

Thanks in advance.

Should be fine.  just get copies of bank book stamped at the bank. should be same stamp they put on the letter.   just had this problem today.  My copies of bank book not stamped.   was sent away.

Not a problem at the majority of immigration offices. There are a few offices  that do not accept a fixed deposit account,

This is a new one on me, I've never heard of this requirement before. Just to confirm .... Are you saying that at the same time as you get your bank letter you take along photocopies of your passbook to the bank, and they also stamp the photocopies for you?

From your username I assume you're talking about Chonburi Immigration at Jomtien requiring this now?

Thanks.
