BANGKOK: -- The government today held "Opportunity Thailand" international seminar to showcase it's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) program with aim to draw more foreign investment into the country.

The seminar is held at the IMPACT Muangthong Convention Center with Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha presiding over the opening ceremony.

Prime Minister Gen Prayut stressed the importance of the EEC to link the country to its neighbours and other countries and said the EEC will be sustainable.

EEC is one of many lead projects that the government will use to attract international investment into the country, he said.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak revealed that many local and foreign investors participate in  the event and he was confident that a great deal of interest will be generated.

The event will effectively highlight Thailand’s potential and readiness to take the lead as the regional leader for investment.
