I've spent quite a bit of time in Chiang Mai before, but very little in Bangkok. I will be spending a few days in Bangkok soon and was curious to know if in fact any yet to be "discovered" gems (there we go again) existed. I'm staying at the Siam@Siam Design Hotel, 865 Rama 1 Road | Wang Mai, Pathum Wan - which is close to the Skytrain (hurrah) and plenty of shopping (which I'm not that keen on). I'm most interested in cultural activities, restaurants and the like. Anything close to my hotel would be a bonus, as I've heard about those traffic jams... Go to the Jewellery Trade Centre adjacent to the H Inn or wander around some of the small sois off Charoenkrung road. Bangkok is one of the major gemstone and jewellery centres of the world. Enjoy (and generally you can buy with confidence in many of these shops). Just don't ask a tuk-tuk to take you!!!! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
