1happykamper
My first O-A visa was obtained on Los Angeles.. 2 years ago.. and for financial info I presented a letter from the USA SSA. Is this letter still ok to present as my monthly income? I am currently on a 60 day tourist visa in Thailand and I see that the requirement now is an affidavit from the bkk embassy as to my income. This seems odd.. Since the letter should.. Should... Be sufficient. Has anyone here got by with no affidavit? Thanks. Maestro
The immigration office in Thailand where you apply for a change from tourist status to non-immigrant status and subsequently for a one-year extension of stay has no access to the documents you submitted to the Thai consulate in Los Angeles where you applied for a non-O/A visa two years ago. The immigration office needs new documents as evidence that you meet the financial requirements for the retirement extension and you should be guided by what your immigration office requests.
