Government spokesman hit back at Dhammakaya over the death of a temple’s volunteer

BANGKOK: -- Government spokesman Lt-Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd hit back at Wat Dhammakaya for blaming the death of one of its volunteers on blockade of the temple by government forces which has prevented the patient from being taken to the hospital for treatment within a short period of time.

Earlier on Wednesday, Phra Palad Seksant Attathamo, a Dhammakaya monk, condemned the Department of Special Investigation for the death of Ms Pattana Chiangraeng, 48, an assistant pharmacist at the temple, from asthma.

The monk claimed that DSI officials prevented a rescue team to leave the temple in order to take Ms Pattana to a hospital. But when the rescue vehicle was allowed to leave the temple, it was already too late to save the life of the patient, he said.

Phra Palad claimed that it took about an hour and ten minutes for monks to get a clearance from the DSI to allow the rescue vehicle to leave the temple for hospital.

Lt-Gen Sansern said that Phra Maha Nopporn contacted the DSI at about 1.31 pm asking for an ambulance to be sent into the temple to pick up Ms Pattana, but when the ambulance arrived at the temple, police and doctors were already at the scene conducting an initial post mortem on the patient who was believed to have died at about 9 am.

It can never be the governments fault, that a person dies out of illicit and illegal actions. Trying stand for whats right and then fight the police when they want to serach for and arrest a suspect, is just outrageous and purely stupid.

DSI denies Dhammakaya accusation troops delayed ambulance

BANGKOK: -- THE SCANDAL-HIT Dhammakaya Temple yesterday blamed the death of an asthma patient inside its vast compound on the ongoing enforcement of a junta order in its hunt for wanted former abbot Phra Dhammachayo.

Phra Sanitwong Wuttiwangso, the temple’s communications director and spokesman, said a woman died of asthma inside the temple at noon because an ambulance could not reach her in time after it was stopped by troops.

The monk said the 48-year-old woman, identified as Pattana Chiangraeng from northern Phayao province, became the second victim after the enforcement of an order issued by the prime minister under Article 44 of the interim charter.

She is among several hundred Dhammakaya followers gathering inside the temple.

If the rogue monk and his blind followers respected the laws of Thailand none of this scenario would exist.

If there is a need for 'blame' in this case, the monks and the folks who are winding up the monks and their rich followers are as much to blame as anybody.

It can never be the fault of the Dhammakay sect when one of their followers dies - but wait - may be they see a good opportunity for their psychological warfare

Propaganda issued by the temple.

All temples should not only open their accounts to the public but have these accounts independently verified by certified accountants.

Not a single temple considers it should do it.

Why is that?

Doesn't change my mind that the temple was corrupt.

Mr. Supachai Srisupa-aksorn  was found guilty of stealing the money from the Klongcharn credit union. The temple admit receiving the money (in the post you've provided) and never thought to ask where he could possibly have got such large sums from and then refuse to return the money.

who is responsible for that website?

refuse to return the money.

They did just the opposite and return the money to the last Baht and case dropped by Klongchan Credit. Take time to read and slowly this time.

I read and replied to the first link that was provided.

There is absolutely nothing in that first link that says the money was returned, no matter how slowly I read it.

If they did pay it back, that doesn't mean the authorities should stop legal action.

Well establish legal process in every country.

Sure they can legally and what a mess now.

My old grannie told me many many times never look a gift horse in the mouth.

Yes the can legally and they should.

Yes it is a mess, mostly because of a rogue highly immoral monk who has prior baggage and who has been operating way outside of the respected teachings and values of Buddhism and accepted billions of Baht money from a credit union, has no hesitation to ignore the law, and has seriously washed many folks.

And it's obviously it's not yet over. In any event the authorities must push for respect for the laws of Thailand.

What's your next twist el?
