I even use them for funds transfer in US to Bangkok Bank in New York. They appear in Thailand the next day. Go to a shopping centre where you can check the rates quickly at a few different banks and do it there. If it is for a large amount then fly to Bangkok. In Udon---we use the Gold shops...not quite sure why they have a such need for foreign money, but they take USA/UK/Aus/Euro....and some others, its not a large amount over the bank..but it is always over. ............
