Residence certificate requirements?

Recommended Posts

I need one to buy a new car and it's been years and years since I needed to get one.  I've forgotten the process.  Just what documents are required?

In Bangkok, is Chaeng Wattanna the TI office to go to?   Thanks.

As mentioned in thread above.

You apply for COR at CW.

It cost 200b and is posted out.

Usually takes ~5 days.

The most important thing is to have a TM47 receipt.

Tip: There is no appointment for COR. If your 90 day report window is open you can make an appointment for that and then the io will photocopy the 90 receipt and process your COR

Pleasantly surprised at Samui Imm. t.

his month as there was no charge for cor.

Required passport, TM30 and copy of house book.

There is no 'official' charge anywhere, I have never paid either. Anyone that does pay money will never get a receipt. If they want to start charging then make it official. Same as Extensions and home visits, some give them gifts, money 'for petrol' etc..  I was once told "we had to pay for the ferry" I replied "I didn't invite you to come, you wanted to "

Does it matter what office, this has the official mark of Thai immigration police, if another office has their 'Own' form then that is their own made up one. Do you have a copy you can post ?? This copy of the official documents needed is from Trat IO. It may help others also.

I have posted link to thread CW specific and my own knowledge of COR from CW and one from MTT.

Also posted link to form that CW uses.

Yes CW specific because that's where OP is applying for COR.

Some rubbish list made up by Trat immigration is for Trat.

The other list you posted in another thread re requirements for extension is also office specific.

Edit: actually have posted 2 links to threads CW specific and first hand reports.

Never required half the forms it states on that list.

Get a yelloe house book, then you don't need a COR.

CW does not have a printed list similar to one you posted as far as I'm aware.

Rather, I posted links to couple of threads that relate first hand experience of obtaining certificate from CW (office used by OP) .

Most requirements on your "list" is not required at CW.

The most important thing required at CW that is not required at other offices is most recent TM47.

The list you posted is a red herring.

My bad. Never required half the documents listed on the 'form' you posted.

Yes, I know I'm lucky, thanks!

OP here.  I've got the info I need on docs required for the CoR.  Thanks.

The new TI website for online CW appointments doesn't have CoR as one of the service options in the drop-down menu.  Does this mean I can't make an appointment for this service?  Only walk-in service?

There is no appointment available for COR at CW.

I posted a tip earlier in thread:

If your window for 90 day report is open you can make an appointment for TM47 and the io will process the report and photocopy the receipt and then process your COR application (same desk).

Otherwise just do walk in.

OP here.  Just finished getting the COR at CW.  Took two and a half hours, mostly because they wanted an "updated TM-30", which meant bouncing a bit from counter 4 to a B counter, then back to 4, then back to B.  Officers all helpful.  A bit time consuming but not bad.

That's the problem we all hate with immigration..... Inconsistency

I have obtained 3 certificate of residence. 2 from CW (different dates) and one from MTT.

Never required a TM30.

Then they hit you up for one.

Or else get a COR and you don't need a yellow house book.

Do I need to tell the Pattaya immigration office when I move to Bangkok, or do I just move?

No, but you need to file a new TM30 at CW notifying your new residential address..

Exactly.  You can research, do all your document prep, and then... surprise!

One advantage of dealing with TI over many years is that you learn to expect (or at least accept) the unexpected and you learn to keep your cool no matter what.

While not related to COR.....

Recently obtained new passport and made trip to CW to transfer stamps etc.

Out of the blue, Wham they want my bank book and photocopies all pages from date of current extension. I use money in bank method retirement..

So if anyone going to CW to transfer stamps be forewarned

That is free extra from immigration!
