Taxi Or Car To Pattaya?

Featured Replies

Appreciate advice from members on alternative taxi / car services from Bangkok condo to South Pattaya (early afternoon 24th Dec). Two Thai adults and small daughter, plus two or three small luggages.

Son has just checked several services and got prices of 1,500 to 2,000Baht.

Any suggestions on better price much appreciated.

Thanks.

Have you considered the train?

35 Baht per person (Adult) from Hualapong to Pattaya. Leaves at around 7am arriving 10:30am

from Pattaya the train leaves around 2pm arriving in BKK at 5:30pm.

If you don't have a lot of luggage it's the way to go.

I've never paid more than 1,400 baht (including tolls) for a taxi from Bangkok to Pattaya. I've heard if you negotiate you can get it down to as low as 1000...at that price you may have to pay tolls.

If you run into any taxi meter and you like the driver, negotiate. Getting 1200 plus tolls should be easy to get.

last year I paid 800 baht from Central Bang Na.

Most Thai's would go to Ekkamai station and take the air conditioned bus for 120 baht a person.

Not if there were 4 of them with bags. Many would take their own car.

True, but it appears the op does not have that option. For the OP scenario the bus (about 500 baht for 4) would be a fraction of a taxi fare and the "two or three small luggages" mentioned does not sound like it would be an issue anywhere along the way.

Surely 2 Thai adults should be able to suss it out for themselves.
