Changing Non-Immigrant ED visa from university student to Intern

Featured Replies

I'm currently an Indian national on a non-immigrant ED visa that is valid until April, 05, 2017. I've recently graduated (last December) from Assumption University with a bachelors degree and I got a job here since the beginning of February. However, they will not fix me a work visa until after 4 months of probation which is till June. But they will agree to alter my job contract in such a way that states I'm an intern till June, and then after I pass probation, they can facilitate the change to a work visa. Can I extend my current student visa on the basis of these documents? Because Assumption University will no longer assist with visa extension once I have graduated. I am desperately trying to avoid a trip to home-country to obtain a new non-immigrant visa. Any info. will be appreciated. Hope the situation is clearly stated.

Thanks!!!

The only way you could get an extension as an intern would be if a Thai university was to sponsor it.

There is no extension based solely on a internship sponsored by a  company.
